💬 What is SENDIAS?
SENDIAS stands for Special Educational Needs and Disability Information Advice and Support Service. It’s a free, confidential, and impartial service available to children and young people aged 0–25 with SEND, and their parents or carers. The team is made up of experienced professionals from education, health, and social care backgrounds—many of whom have personal experience of parenting children with SEND.
🛠️ What Support is Available?
SENDIAS offers:
- Clear, impartial advice on SEND processes
- Help understanding support plans and Education, Health and Care (EHC) plans
- Guidance through the EHC assessment process
- Support preparing for meetings and resolving disagreements
- Training sessions and workshops for parents and carers
- Signposting to other local and national services
